From My Hands to Yours

After months of really struggling on my next move, I'm excited to finally set the wheels in motion for our new subscription model. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little freaked out. I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm just doing it. My husband always says, "you'll figure it out!"

What I realized over this isolated season that we've been in, is that I am a connector, I yearn for community and I love to teach. As I was thinking through my strengths and core values, I remembered that the four words that were painted in gold and hanging on my focal wall at the studio were Create, Communicate, Collaborate, and Celebrate! And that sums up who I've been for the last 20 years.

The way in which I've been hard wired has lead me to this point. It's as if I've come full circle with my career and calling.

When ever I struggled in the past financially, I always seemed to default to the idea that I could just go back to my Dental Hygiene career and make good steady money. But that idea came to a screeching halt! The pandemic changed the whole dental industry. Did I really want to be basically hermetically sealed in a hazmat suit cleaning teeth all day? I couldn't imagine it. Then I tore my rotator cuff in two places so the pain and discomfort of even thinking about being hunched over someone all day seemed impossible.

But wait, I'm creative! And as the famous hashtag says, I was #createdtocreate.

So what could I do that was different? Well, the whole world is now subscribing to boxes that are sent to your home. Art supply boxes were plenty. But they don't really offer live instruction. I really missed teaching and coming up with neat teachable projects. So why not just box them up and ship them out?

Will this even get off the ground and fly? Well, I can only hope. Even if it's 10 ladies that I can reconnect with and send a little inspiration and love from hands to there's, it will be ENOUGH.

We'll just have to see what happens! Monday we launch!
